My personal Bergdoktor story

The Hinterschnabel farm has been perched high above Ellmau since the 16th century, captivating many with its unique charm and history. It’s no wonder that The Mountain Doctor chose this old, historic farmhouse as a filming location. The Hinterschnabel farm is one of the oldest buildings in the region—a traditional farm that has been inhabited and farmed for generations. Today, it’s famous as the famous Bergdoktor house, but long before it became a filming location, it was a real home.

High above Ellmau sits the Hinterschnabel farmhouse, standing proudly since the 16th century. With its unique charm and rich history, it has long captivated visitors. It’s no wonder that the famous TV series Bergdoktor chose this authentic, historic farmstead as a filming location. The Hinterschnabelhof is one of the oldest buildings in the region – a traditional farm that has been inhabited and cultivated for generations. Today, it is widely known as the Bergdoktor House, but long before it became a television icon, it was a real home.

On the farm, you truly feel the presence of history – time seems to pass more slowly in this special place. Sadly, my grandmother did not live to see this house become so famous. For many visitors, it’s a symbol of a popular TV series, but for me, it’s a living memory of the past – a place that carries the story and spirit of my grandmother’s life.
